
RESEARCH ACTIVIT
At the department of "State Audit" scientific work is carried out on the study of theoretical and practical problems of state audit in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Research activity of the department is aimed at the realization of the initiative theme of the department: "Organizational and methodological aspects of public audit in the context of ensuring dynamic growth of the quality of living conditions of society and national security of the country". Number of state registration 0119RKI0126 from 19.04.2019.
The main goals and objectives of the research activities of the department:
- conducting theoretical research and developing proposals on topical scientific issues in the field of public audit;
- Formation of skills and abilities in the scientific sphere in trainees as part of their professional competence;
- Increasing the learning motivation of trainees through their research activities;
- selection and recommendation of the most promising in research activity trainees for further education in Master's programs and formation of personnel reserve.
The department "Public Audit" has a high level of tenure of teaching staff. Almost 70% of teachers have h-index. The scientific school "Chairs Jean Monnet - Euroaudit", implemented under the international program Erasmus + (JEAN MONNET) is functioning at the department.
Scientific projects financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "Erasmus+" where faculty members, doctoral students and master's students of the department are involved.

Competition for program-targeted funding for scientific and (or) scientific-technical programs for 2023-2025 in cooperation with LLP "Center for Research, Analysis and Efficiency Assessment" of the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- Supervisor Doctor of Economics, Professor Sembieva L.M. - AP19677311 "Research of possibilities of application of deep artificial intelligence in forecasting the market of green securities in Kazakhstan". Competition for grant funding for scientific and (or) scientific-technical projects for 2023-2025 years

- Annually the faculty of the department "State Audit" is carried out according to the contract with LLP "Center for Research, Analysis and Efficiency Assessment" at UARP independent examination of research reports in accordance with the technical assignment.
An important outcome of research activities is the receipt of protection documents, in 2023, amounted to 5 units, in 2022 - 8 units

The department has a dissertation council for the defense of PhD theses. For the year 2024 10 doctoral students PhD on State Audit were defended. Of them 3 external, 3 internal.
The faculty of the department actively publishes in foreign rating journals with high impact factor. In 2023, the faculty of the department published 56 articles in peer-reviewed scientific publications indexed in the Social Science Citation Index or in the Web of Science database and (or) having a CiteScore percentile in the Scopus database not less than 35 (thirty-five).

There is a scientific Club "Zhas Auditor" organized by the students of the chairs, the purpose of which is to obtain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of public audit. Scientific seminars are held by the Club according to the schedule of Club meetings. The participants of the Club hold scientific and sporting events.
The department "State Audit" organizes international scientific and practical conferences, scientific schools and seminars.
Scientific activity of teachers of the department is characterized by active participation in scientific conferences, both in Kazakhstan and abroad. Faculty members of the department take repeated participation in international scientific conferences in London, Warsaw, Athens, Moscow with the publication of materials in the collections.
Students also take an active part in the scientific activity of the department. In 2023 in the Republican NIRS among universities on specialty 6В04121 - "State Audit" under the guidance of professors of the department students take prizes.
Acting docent of the Department of “State Audit”, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Aktoty Oiratovna Zhupysheva is actively engaged in research projects focused on the ecological and economic aspects of the rational use of water resources and the impact of climate change on water security in Kazakhstan.
In 2025–2027, A.O. Zhupysheva leads the project AP26104279 “Ecological and Economic Efficiency of Rational Water Use under Water Scarcity Conditions”, awarded within the national competition for grant funding of scientific and/or scientific-technical projects. The research aims to develop scientifically grounded approaches to assessing the efficiency of water resource use, to formulate recommendations for strengthening the resilience of water management systems, and to provide practical solutions for public policy institutions and water sector organizations.
In addition, A.O. Zhupysheva serves as a researcher in the project AP23486944 “The Relationship Between Water Quality and Quantity under Climate Change in the Steppe Zones of Kazakhstan” for 2024–2026 (project leader: R.R. Beissenova). This project examines the interlinkages between qualitative and quantitative characteristics of water resources amid increasing climate risks, assesses the ecological and socio-economic implications of water scarcity, and develops scientific and practical recommendations to support climate adaptation.

At the "State Audit" department, a permanent scientific seminar operates. Participants regularly present their research and reports on pressing issues of state audit, including methodological aspects, and exchange opinions and new ideas in accordance with the approved plan. The seminar plan was not fulfilled only during the 2019-2020 academic year due to the pandemic, as all events except educational ones were canceled. The seminars are held in a lively, creative atmosphere, fostering discussions and contributing to the professional development of faculty members. Based on the discussions, decisions are made, including those of an educational and methodological nature.
