The educational program for the preparation of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) "State Audit" was opened in 2016 in accordance with the proposal of the Supreme Body of State Audit of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Accounting Committee for Control over the Execution of the Republican Budget. The educational program for the preparation of a doctor of philosophy (PhD) "State Audit" has a scientific and pedagogical orientation and involves fundamental educational, methodological and research training and in-depth study of disciplines in the fields of sciences related to state audit for the system of higher and postgraduate education and the scientific sphere.

The educational program of the doctoral program "State Audit" provides fundamental educational, methodological and research training and in-depth study of disciplines in the field of scientific specialization and is developed on the basis of benchmarking similar programs of leading foreign universities, taking into account the Kazakh realities in the system of higher and postgraduate education. There is a solid base of professional practice, which includes more than 30 state audit bodies and quasi-public sector enterprises. Together with employers, the teaching staff of the department publishes educational and methodological publications. According to the results of the national rating of the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency (NAAR) in 2021, the educational program of the doctoral program "State Audit" took the first place among the doctoral programs of Kazakhstani universities.

The Department of "State Audit" of the Faculty of Economics at L.N.
