Scientific activity

The Department of "Finance" carries out research work on the following initiative topic: "Financial Aspects of the Third Modernization of the Economy of Kazakhstan" for 2017-2020, which is registered at the National Center for Scientific and Technical Information. The supervisors of the scientific topics are: Professor N. Kuchukova and Professor Kerimbek G.E.

The faculty of the department takes an active part:

The teaching staff actively participates in conferences, which contributes to the growth of professional activity, presenting their results, establishing scientific contacts. The table provides information on the number of scientific publications in the collections and papers of the conferences of faculty members for 2014-2018.

Major and significant events in the 2018-2019 were the holding of an international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the national currency of Kazakhstan on the topic: "Modernization of the economy of Kazakhstan - a factor of stability of the financial system of the state and national currency." The moderator of the conference was a professor of the department "Finance" of the L.N.Gumilyov ENU., Ph.D., honorary worker of the National Bank Mazhitov D.M., Galym Bainazarov - First Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Reza Samsani - Deputy Head of the Fintech Hub of the International Financial Center of Astana (AFCA), Kanat Kulbayev - Director of the Central Branch (Astana) of the National Bank, Gabdygapar Seitkasimov - Professor of the Department Finance ”Kazakh University of Finance and International Trade, Doctor of Economics, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elena Nikiforova - Professor of Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Economics, Altai Zeinelgabdin - Deputy Director of the RSE “Center for the Study of Financial Violations” of the Accounts Committee for Control over the Implementation of the Republican Budget, Doctor of Economics, Professor.

Various exhibitions of banknotes and coins of the national currency and excursions to the National Bank of Kazakhstan students, undergraduates, doctoral students of the specialty "Finance" of  ENU L.N.Gumilyov were also organized, which are aimed at improving the financial literacy of students and consolidation of knowledge in the field of banking. At the same time, a presentation of the Financial Analytics cabinet took place. Within the decade of the department, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the national currency - tenge, a round table was held, according to the plan of the scientific and methodical seminar of the department, a round table was held on the theme “Fiscal and monetary policy of Kazakhstan and their impact on the stability of the national currency”. A special event was the joint organization of a round table with representatives of the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the International Financial Center Astana. The guests held for the audience an interesting lecture on the features of the modern financial market. Representatives of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, noted the need and importance of cooperation between the practice and the university, in order to improve the quality of education and competitiveness of graduates.
