Material and Technical Base

ENU possesses all the necessary resources, as well as a scientific, technical and experimental base for training specialists at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels. The structure, composition and number of technical resources and laboratories are determined by the requirements of the implemented educational programs and other statutory activities. Educational, research and specialized laboratories are equipped with computer technology, necessary equipment, didactic materials, technical and audiovisual teaching aids, and visual materials.

Training of students under the educational programs of the department is carried out in the educational and laboratory building of ENU. The total area is 1220.29 sq.m. The usable educational space complies with the current sanitary standards and qualification requirements for the activities of educational institutions. Classes with students are conducted in the classrooms of the educational and laboratory building according to the schedule, as well as in the classrooms assigned to the department and the Higher School of Economics and Tourism. The number of seats corresponds to the needs of the educational process and the research activities of faculty members and students.

All academic buildings are equipped with Wi-Fi wireless networks. There are classrooms equipped with computers, interactive whiteboards and projectors integrated into the automated educational process management system “Platonus.” The academic building also has elevators and ramps for students with special educational needs. In the reading halls, personal computers connected to the local Internet network are installed for users.

The department is assigned classrooms No. 510, No. 517, No. 610 and professors’ offices No. 513, No. 519, No. 520. The computer classroom No. 610 is equipped with special equipment that contributes to the development of necessary research and practical skills. The computers are equipped with licensed software IBM SPSS Statistics, Gretl and Jamovi.

Classroom 510 – the Kazakhstan-Iran Center named after Abu Rayhan Biruni, equipped with a TV and an interactive board.

Classroom 517 – the Kazakhstan-Poland Research Center “Green Economy”, equipped with the necessary technical means and equipment (camera, TV, microphones, interactive board, conference table, podium for presentations, computers, Internet), allowing educational and scientific activities as well as doctoral dissertation defenses to be conducted.
